Alicia Field is a photographer based in South East England who currently works for Berkshire Media Group. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Birmingham in English Literature and History of Art.
While her undergraduate degree focused more on theory, it is the practical application of art in a real world context that has always inspired and enthused her. From photojournalism, portraiture and documentary photography, Alicia’s aim with her work is to capture the details of any given situation and in turn transform them into something special in order to transcend the everyday. Whether working on a documentary photography project in Senegal or photographing a concert Alicia brings an emotional integrity to each and every photograph she takes.
In 2012 she gained her National Council for the Training of Journalists NCE Qualification in Photojournalism, since when she has been employed by Berkshire Media Group whilst expanding her own practice of documentary photography and portraiture work.
She is currently working on gaining her MA in Documentary Photography at The University of South Wales (formerly Newport University) for which she was awarded the University of South Wales Centenary Postgraduate Masters Scholarship. Her work in Senegal, which was carried out whilst accompanying hip hop artist Sister Fa on her ‘Education sans Excision’ tour with the charity Orchid Project in 2012, has also been recognised by the Human Rights Watch Photo Competition.
